Welcome to the winter 2023 edition of our practice newsletter. As always, it has been an incredibly busy year!
The 15th of November marked our eighth anniversary since opening doors to the public. During the last eight years, we have welcomed over 14,000 patients at our practices in Blyton and Scunthorpe. Thank you so much for all your continued support.
At the beginning of the year, we started the refurbishment on the first floor at our practice in Scunthorpe, which was completed in May, so we now have three new surgeries upstairs in addition to four downstairs.
In May, we welcomed Dr Navdeep Singh Dhinsa to the team, who offers general dentistry. He is a very enthusiastic and patient clinician and is doing a Restorative course in Manchester. Nav is based at our Scunthorpe practice working 3 days a week.
In November, we welcomed Dr Samira Negahdarhaghighi, who offers general dentistry. Samira is also doing a Restorative & Aesthetic course in Manchester. Samira works in our Blyton practice on Tuesdays and does two Saturday’s a month.
We now have a laboratory onsite equipped with state-of-the-art 3D printing machines, so all denture work, implant provisionals, mouth guards and whitening trays are made onsite by our new laboratory technician, Martin Collins. Martin is a very skilled and experienced technician who joined us in September.
Dr Laura Carr has also joined us this year, offering sedation to our very nervous patients, and our complex implant treatments.
We also welcomed several new faces to our team of dental nurses. Laura has joined us as a qualified dental nurse, while Macy and Ellie are trainee nurses currently doing their NVQ in dental nursing. Katie also joined our ever-expanding reception team. Congratulations to Olivia for passing her nurses exam, and to Kelly who passed her radiography in September.
Sadly, we waved farewell to our nurse Jayde in September, who has gone back to university to study general nursing, and we wish her well for the future.
Raj is making a good recovery, and we thank you all for your well wishes and support.
We are delighted to welcome all of our new team members and wish them all a very happy future with us.
