This lady presented with severely ‘worn out’ teeth. She said she had ‘stopped smiling” due to the appearance of her teeth.
She had lost the height of the lower part of her face due to the severe wear of her teeth.
We began by recording the approximate height of the teeth she has lost over the years and made a diagnostic wax model of the proposed new restorations.
The worn out teeth were carefully built up with composite bonding in stages. Once she got used to the new height, they were converted to crowns and bridges.
She was please with the results and wished it was done a few years earlier!
‘Worn out’ dentition is a common problem, excessive grinding of the teeth or acid erosion could be the main reasons.
