He came to us unhappy with several loose upper teeth and was struggling to eat.
He had previously been told that there might not be enough bone in his upper jaw for implants.
He also had older implants in his lower jaw, placed abroad many years earlier, but some of his lower teeth were becoming loose, and he was unhappy with them.
Our examination found that the remaining upper teeth could not be restored.
A CT scan showed there was enough bone to proceed with implant treatment, so we removed the teeth, placed implants, and fitted a fixed temporary bridge on the same day.
After four months of healing, this was replaced with a zirconia bridge.
During the course of the upper treatment, he asked whether we could also improve his lower teeth, which were becoming increasingly loose.
After obtaining details of the implants placed abroad, we were able to assess them and use the existing implants to support a new All-on-X bridge.
Both final bridges were fitted at the same appointment.
He was very pleased with the result.
Where existing implants are healthy and suitable, they may be incorporated into a new restoration, although their position can limit the available treatment options.
